Terms of Use
Last updated 8 October 2026.
These terms cover the Timesnap camera app and timesnap.info, made by Rivontech ("we", "us"). By using them, you agree to these terms. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement applies too.
1. What Timesnap does
Timesnap stamps your photos and videos with the time and place. It can also record a proof on our server, so anyone with the photo's code can check when and where it was taken, and whether it was edited.
A Timesnap proof is supporting evidence: it shows a photo matches what was recorded when it was taken. It is not a guarantee:
- We can't promise that a court, insurer, employer or anyone else will accept it.
- We can't vouch for what a photo shows.
- Location is as accurate as your phone's GPS.
2. Your photos
- Your photos and videos are yours. We never receive them; only a fingerprint and the time and place are sent for the proof (see the app privacy policy).
- You're responsible for having the right to take and share them.
- Backups go to your own Google Drive, under Google's terms.
3. Fair use
Don't:
- try to forge, alter or fake a proof;
- overload or attack the service;
- take the app apart to abuse it;
- use Timesnap for anything unlawful.
We limit how often the service can be used, and we may block use that breaks these terms.
4. Free plan and Timesnap Pro
- Free:
- proofs are kept for 30 days;
- the app shows ads;
- some tools are for Pro.
- Pro:
- £4.99 a month or £29.99 a year (prices vary by country, and may change with notice);
- proofs are kept for 1 year;
- no ads, and all tools.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel in Google Play or the App Store at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you won't be charged for the next one.
- Payments and refunds: handled by Google Play or Apple, under their rules.
- When Pro ends: proofs already kept for a year keep their date, and new photos are kept for 30 days.
5. The service
We work to keep Timesnap running, but it may sometimes be unavailable. We may change, add or remove features. Proofs are deleted when their time is up, as the privacy policy explains.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account), or as explained at timesnap.info/delete-account.
7. Responsibility
- Timesnap is provided "as is".
- As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for:
- indirect or consequential losses;
- decisions other people make based on a proof.
- Our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing here limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit, and your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
8. Changes and law
- If these terms change, we'll update them here and change the date at the top.
- Rivontech is based in England, so these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Timesnap is used worldwide. Wherever you live, you keep the protections of your own country's consumer laws, and you can bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow.
