Delete your Timesnap account
You can delete your account in the Timesnap camera app, and everything we keep with it, at any time. It's free and happens straight away.
In the app
- Open Timesnap and go to Settings. At the bottom, tap Delete account. (It's also in your Profile, under the ⋯ menu.)
- If you back up to Google Drive, choose whether to delete those backups too.
- Tap Delete account. You'll see when it's done.
What is deleted
- The proof records of every photo and video you took with the app: the time, GPS position and address, and the photo's fingerprint. Photos you've shared will no longer show as verified on timesnap.info.
- Your Pro membership record, and your customer record with RevenueCat, the service that handles subscriptions for us.
- Your Timesnap account ID. It's anonymous: we never had your name or email.
- On your phone: Timesnap's access to your Google Drive (withdrawn), your profile photo and your backup history.
- If you choose: the “Timesnap Backups” folder in your Google Drive, and everything in it.
What is kept
- Photos and videos on your phone. They're yours, in your gallery.
- Your backups in Google Drive, unless you chose to delete them. You can delete the “Timesnap Backups” folder in Google Drive yourself at any time.
- Your subscription. Deleting your account doesn't cancel it: cancel it in Google Play (Profile → Payments & subscriptions) or, on iPhone, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Google and Apple keep their own purchase records.
- A few security records that aren't linked to you, and delete themselves: request counters (within an hour) and time checks (within 7 days).
No longer have the app?
Email vnomapps@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Timesnap data”, and include the code from one of your photos. It's on the photo's stamp, after “ID:”, and looks like TS-AB3CD4E. Because your account is anonymous, that code is how we find your records. We delete everything listed above within 30 days and reply to let you know.
To take back Timesnap's access to your Google Drive yourself, go to myaccount.google.com/connections, choose Timesnap, and remove its access.
